New and Used Ram 1500 REV: Prices, Photos, Reviews, Specs

Set to arrive in 2024, the 2025 Ram 1500 REV is the brand’s first battery-electric pickup truck. It will ride a new platform developed for electric vehicles and will take on the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, and Rivian R1T.

We’ll find out when it hits the market, but Ram is projecting class-leading numbers of its electric pickup, including a targeted range of up to 500 miles. We’ll rate it when we drive it. (Read more about how we rate cars.)

Everything. It will be a new vehicle. The Ram 1500 REV will use Stellantis’ new STLA Frame platform developed for large body-on-frame electric vehicles. The battery will sit within the ladder frame, which will be wider in the middle than it is in the internal-combustion engine-powered Ram 1500. The battery will be either a 168-kwh unit Ram says will offer 350 miles of range or a 229-kwh unit with a targeted range of 500 miles.

Trim levels will include Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited, and the new Tungsten at the top of the lineup. A Ram 1500 REV XR electric truck with a range-extending engine will follow the full EV.

The Ram REV looks like the gas model but with a new face. Up front, it has LED headlights with a signature tuning fork shape, an illuminated RAM script, a sealed grille area, and a body color front fascia. The hood opens to reveal a frunk with 15.0 cubic feet of cargo space. The fenders bulge at the wheels, and a character line bisects the body between the wheels. The bed retains the brand’s RamBox bedside storage bins, and the charge port is located on the left front fender. A full-length underbody belly pan helps the truck achieve a 0.34 coefficient of drag.

The interior will come with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.0- or 14.5-inch center touchscreen, and an available 10.3-inch screen for the front passenger. The passenger screen will allow the front passenger to handle navigation, device management, and entertainment (through phones via an HDMI port), and it will also show the truck’s camera views. A 10.0-inch head-up display will also be available.

An EV Pages function viewable through the screens will include power flow, range impact with advice to improve efficiency, driving history, charge schedule, plug and charge that automatically authorizes charging payments, max battery level, and charging level. The instrument panel will also have gauges to show current power, regen, range, and battery temperature.

The batteries will power two 250-kw electric motors, one on each axle for all-wheel drive. Together, they will make an estimated 654 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque and unlock a 0-60 mph time of a targeted 4.4 seconds. The front wheels will be able to disconnect for improved efficiency, and the rear axle will have an available electronic limited-slip differential. Ram also targets 14,000 pounds of towing capacity and 2,700 pounds of payload capacity, in addition to 24 inches of water fording capability. A one-pedal driving mode will be chosen via a button, as will a normal driving mode that will likely coast like a gas vehicle with an automatic transmission.

An 800-volt electrical system will enable DC fast charging at up to 350 kw, which will allow the battery to recover 110 miles of range in 10 minutes, according to Ram. The truck will also be capable of vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-grid bi-directional charging. A power panel in the bed will charge at 7.2 kw and another in the trunk will charge at 3.6 kw.

The Ram REV will be offered with a four-corner air suspension, adaptive dampers, and a multi-link rear suspension. The air suspension will have entry/exit, aero, normal, off-road 1 and off-road 2 ride heights, but Ram hasn’t said how many inches the modes will change the ground clearance. The wheels will be offered in 20- and 22-inch sizes.

Available safety equipment will include adaptive cruise control, active lane control, driver-attention alerts, and traffic sign recognition, among other features.

How much does the 2025 Ram 1500 REV cost?

Prices and equipment haven’t been announced, but Ram says the top Tungsten model will come standard with quilted leather upholstery, 24-way power-adjustable front seats, memory and massage functions for the front seats, a Klipsch 23-speaker audio system, two wireless smartphone chargers, metal pedals, a power tailgate, and suede on the headliner, A- and B-pillars, and visors. Expect the Tungsten to flirt with six figures.

Where is the 2025 Ram 1500 REV made?

That hasn’t been announced yet.
