New and Used GMC Yukon: Prices, Photos, Reviews, Specs

This preview of the 2024 Yukon will be updated when GMC releases final specs, photos, features, and prices.

What kind of vehicle is the 2024 GMC Yukon? What does it compare to?

GMC’s Yukon is a full-size SUV. It is available as standard wheelbase and extra-long Yukon XL wheelbase, in a trim lineup featuring the off-road AT4 and ritzy Denali. The Yukon competes with the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition, as well as corporate cousins bearing Cadillac Escalade and Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban badges.

Is the 2024 GMC Yukon a good SUV?

Yes, it’s an overall strong choice. The Yukon serves impressive refinement, strong towing capability, and luxurious comfort. For 2023 it scored a 6.3 on the TCC scale, with some blots on its crash-test record. (Read more about how we rate cars.)

What’s new for the 2024 GMC Yukon?

We expect the Yukon to carry over unchanged for 2024, following some trim level updates in 2023.

The Denali Ultimate tops the range with the most upscale materials, most adjustable seats, and optional Super Cruise hands-free driving system. There are plenty of other options down the ladder, as well as the choice between the standard-wheelbase Yukon and extended-wheelbase Yukon XL, with similar styling, such as a blocky grille flanked by C-shaped lighting, and conservative slab-like sides.

Inside is even better, particularly the Denali, which gets an exclusive dash design. A 10.2-inch infotainment display is standard across the lineup, with a desktop-style Google Maps interface.

The powertrain options are smooth but rather rudimentary. Most configurations get a5.3-liter V-8 with 355 hp, and upgrades include a 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 hp and a torquey 3.0-liter turbodiesel 6-cylinder. A 10-speed auto transmission appears across the lineup, paired to either rear- or four-wheel drive. V-8s are rated for about 16 mpg combined, and the diesel can achieve 23 mpg combined.

The fully independent suspension system provides comfort, even when taking the AT4 model off-road. All models provide impressive comfort and some configurations can seat up to nine. In XL wheelbase, second and third rows comfortably accommodate adults and can handle all their luggage. It’s almost 19 feet long, though, so measure your garage first.

The Yukon includes automatic emergency braking comes standard, though most other desirable safety tech costs extra. The NHTSA awards only four stars in crash-testing.

How much does the 2024 GMC Yukon cost?

The Yukon starts around $60,000 and increases quickly. The best amenities and tech come with the Denali, upwards of $75,000, most shoppers will find a nice balance with about $66,000 for the Yukon SLT.

Where is the 2024 GMC Yukon made?

Arlington, Texas.
