What’s new for the 2023 Toyota Supra?

In its fourth year, the Supra is now available with a manual transmission for the Supra 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and A91 models (the latter, the A91-MT Edition, is limited to a production run of 500 for the United States). Furthermore, the A91-MT is available with two exclusive exterior colors, Burnout and CU Later Gray, both of which pair with an exclusive hazelnut leather interior.

All Supra models get new steering and suspension tuning for improved cornering, and 3.0 and A91 models get a new feature called Hairpin+ for more exciting handling. Supra 3.0 Premium and A91-MT models get a premium JBL Audio system.

The Supra’s exterior design tends toward chaotic, with a basic hatchback coupe profile accented by curves, lines, and scoops everywhere. Wisely, though, the cabin is kept simple. 

Regardless of which Supra you choose, you’ll find a lively BMW-sourced powertrain under the hood. The 2.0 models feature a 2.0-liter turbo-4 rated for 255 hp. The 3.0 models get a 3.0-liter turbo inline-6 that ramps power to 382 hp, achieves the 0-60 mph run in under 4.0 seconds, and infuses more personality to the entire package. Both engines are reasonably efficient, with up to 28 mpg combined from the 2.0 model.

The entire Supra lineup is upgraded this year with new steering and suspension tuning.

With a weight savings of roughly 200 pounds compared to the 3.0, the Supra 2.0 is nimble and light on its feet, with responsive steering and decent ride quality from the 18-inch wheels and rubber. 

The Supra 3.0 models get suspension upgrades by way of adaptive dampers, an electronic limited-slip differential to enhance traction through turns, and 19-inch wheels. The new manual transmission is available exclusively with 3.0-powered Supras, and those models get optimized traction and braking for the manual gearbox. Supra 3.0 and A91 versions also get the new Hairpin+ feature to enhance turning ability through uphill curves.

There’s little space inside the Supra, for everything from legroom to cargo room. The cabin is well-built, but the BMW-sourced infotainment system is already outdated.

How much does the 2023 Toyota Supra cost?

The 2023 Supra 2.0 has a base price of $44,365 with destination, and the Supra 3.0 A91-MT comes in at $59,440. Base features in the 2.0 include leather and Alcantara-trimmed upholstery, an 8.8-inch touchscreen, keyless start, and 18-inch alloy wheels with safety features such as active lane control and automatic emergency braking. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and parking sensors are optional.
